Austin Dressage Unlimited would like to recognize and honor our members who have achieved their goals of successfully advancing up the levels of USDF dressage. Our Level Headed Riders will be awarded an embroidered Austin Dressage Unlimited patch in specific colors, as they prove proficiency and progression up the levels of dressage. Patches are awarded based on attaining the required scores at the necessary levels at USDF recognized shows (with one exception, the Pre-USDF category).
Purple Rider Achievement Patch
Pre-USDF Show Achievements at ADU Shows
Rider must earn a minimum of 6 scores of 60 percent or higher:
4 scores at the level they are riding at, from 4 different rides and at least 2 different judges at 2 different Schooling Dressage Shows (judges being L graduates or higher USDF rated). 2 of these scores must be at the highest test of the level they are riding.
2 scores at the level they are riding at, to be earned at an ADU Practice Show or ADU Test Riding Workshop.
Green Rider Achievement Patch
Training & First Level Achievements at USDF Shows
Rider must earn a minimum of 8 scores of 60 percent or higher:
4 at Training Level from 4 different rides and at least 2 different judges.
1 of these scores must be at Training Level Test 3.
4 at First Level from 4 different rides and at least 2 different judges.
1 of these scores must be at First Level Test 3.
Red Rider Achievement Patch
Second & Third Level Achievements at USDF Shows
Rider must earn a minimum of 8 scores of 60 percent or higher:
4 at Second Level from 4 different rides and at least 2 different judges.
1 of these scores must be at Second Level Test 3.
4 at Third Level from 4 different rides and at least 2 different judges. 1 of these scores must be at Third Level Test 3.
Blue Rider Achievement Patch
Fourth Level & Prix St Georges Achievements at USDF Shows
Rider must earn a minimum of 4 scores of 60 percent or higher:
2 at Fourth Level from 2 different rides and 2 different judges. 1 of these scores must be at Fourth Level Test 3.
2 at Prix St Georges from 2 different rides and 2 different judges.
Yellow Rider Achievement Patch
Intermediate I or II & Grand Prix Achievements at USDF Shows
Rider must earn a minimum of 4 scores of 60 percent or higher:
2 at Intermediate I and/or Intermediate II from 2 different rides and 2 different judges.
2 at Grand Prix from 2 different rides and 2 different judges.
General Information:
Rider Achievement Patches will be awarded to the Level Headed Riders at the annual fall ADU Year-End Celebration party, as well as being listed on the ADU website.
There is no time limit for earning Rider Achievement Patches.
More than one horse may be ridden to achieve your Rider Achievement Patch.
Rider will be limited to earning 1 patch per color.
Rider must request Rider Achievement Patch and provide proper documentation. This includes copies of dressage test score sheets, or copies of rider’s USDF Rider Report Form displaying their USDF competition record.
